Housing

Grand Forks housing options range from modest single-bedroom apartments to expansive estates. Grand Forks is distinguished from typical metropolitan areas, however, by a lack of substandard housing. Community values of hard work and pride are evident in the beautifully maintained homes and landscapes.

The Grand Forks Housing Authority (GFHA) was found to provide a mean for City government, HUD, the state of ND, non-profit service providers, property owners and developers to work together in providing the best possible mix of housing programs for families.  The GFHA is involved in a diverse range of activities and has a variety of community partners which are an integral part of the services provided.

The Promenade is a unique and exciting mixed income residential community that created building sites for approximately one hundred twenty-five housing units, which were all built with quality materials and craftsmanship.

The city takes pride in its home-ownership rate and gives at least some of the credit to its award-winning programs that help educate low-income families for home ownership.
